The all-new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe range has been fully detailed in every specification, including Australian pricing as it hits the market, vying to be the best 7 seater on the market.
The new car leaps forward in many ways, including new engines, six and eight-speed automatic transmissions, a new ‘HTRAC’ all-wheel drive system and active safety features, as well as a bold new appearance.
All Santa Fe models from the entry-level Active up come standard with forward collision alert, autonomous emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, fatigue monitoring, lane keep assist and auto high-beam.
Hyundai says the new folding mechanism for the second row of seats allows far easier access to the third row than ever before, while it also benefits from the same local tuning program as other Hyundai vehicles. Hyundai’s R-MDPS, or rack-mounted motor electric power steering system allowed local engineers to tune the steering feel more precisely than ever before.

Engines to choose from include a ‘Theta II’ 2.4-litre Gdi four-cylinder petrol with 138kW at 6,000rpm and 241Nm at 4,000rpm. This can be optioned with a six-speed auto, while the 2.2-litre turbo-diesel packs 147kW at 3800 rpm and a meaty 440Nm from 1750 to 2750rpm. The turbo-diesel comes with an eight-speed auto.
