Kia Stinger Wide Body and Federation concepts bow at 2017 SEMA Motor Show

A pair of hotted-up Kia Stingers have debuted ahead of the 2017 SEMA show in Las Vegas, showcasing the enormous potential for the rear-wheel drive, turbocharged liftback.

The Kia Stinger GT Federation is finished in a unique ‘Creamy Orange’ paint scheme with a variety of modifications to enhance the sporting flavour of the baseline vehicle. A bodykit by Air Design USA consists of diffusers, subtle rear wing and a front lip extension, with a Borla exhaust protruding from the rear valance. Dark 20-inch rims by TSW contrast the loud orange paint scheme.

Thanks to a K&N cold air setup and the aforementioned Borla exhaust system, a further 11kW has been liberated from the Stinger’s 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6, to bring the total up to 283kW.

If you want something with even more presence, then West Coast Custom’s Stinger should hit the spot. The searing blue colour scheme is draped over a widened body, with front and rear fender flare extensions, 21-inch deep dish Keen forged alloys, aggressive rear diffuser and quad exhausts. Blue leather and stitched grey inserts keep the theme going on the inside, with extra Alcantara and carbon-fibre parts for good measure.

Also on display is the Cadenza Obsidian, by WCC with gold highlights, 20-inch Keen rims, lowered suspension and a Harman Kardon 630-Watt sound system and sub. The Cadenza is not sold in Australia but still shows the capability of Kia’s US outfit.

The Stinger concepts demonstrate the huge aftermarket potential for the Stinger range, which has already generated a huge amount of buzz in Australia. What do you think about the SEMA-bound concepts? Tell us in the comments section below.
