Pricing and specifications for the 2019 Mazda CX-8 has been revealed, with Mazda’s newest midsize offering starting from $42,490 before on-road costs.
As previously detailed in our Best SUVs of 2018 and best medium SUV features, the CX-8 is a crucial model for Mazda, sitting between the CX-5 and CX-9, utilising the 2930mm wheelbase of the latter, to offer a seven-seat configuration. The sole engine on offer is a 2.2-litre, 140kW/450Nm Skyactiv-D turbo-diesel mill, promising excellent fuel economy, but actual figures will have to wait until July when the specifications are detailed.
The model grades are Sport front-drive from $42,490, Sport all-wheel drive from $46,490 and flagship Asaki AWD from $61,490. Equipment details will have to wait closer to the CX-8’s July launch.
