Want a spacious alternative to a small SUV? The 2018 Holden Astra Sportwagon has arrived, as part of Holden’s commitment to release 24 new models before the end of the decade.
Taking on from where the Cruze wagon left off, the new Astra Sportwagon, like the five-door hatchback, is sourced from Europe – unlike the South Korean-sourced Astra Sedan.
The Sportwagon features up to 1630L of bootspace when the rear seats are folded flat. Only one powertrain is offered; the 1.4-litre turbo from the base Astra R, combined with a six-speed automatic. That powertrain is good for 110kW and 240Nm. Unfortunately, the 147kW 1.6-litre turbo from the RS and RS-V is off the cards for now. Fuel consumption is rated at 5.9L/100km. Stop/Start is standard across the range.
