2018.5 Ford Transit Custom announced with infotainment, safety boost

Ford has updated its classic load-hauler for the 2018.5 model year, culminating in the 2018.5 Ford Transit Custom range. This adds appeal to one of the best vans available in Australia for 2018-2019.

The update is marked by a new SYNC 3 infotainment system, featuring an 8.0-inch screen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other changes include a revised front and rear styling and an available Technology Pack, which includes new safety features.
At the front, a larger grille with a more prominent blue oval logo, bringing it into line with newer models such as the updated Fiesta, Focus and EcoSport. Larger foglamp housings and revised headlamps are notable as well. Redesigned taillamp clusters are the noticeable change from behind.

The Technology Pack is available for $1600, which includes autonomous emergency braking (AEB), rain-sensing wipers, tyre pressure monitor, 4.2-inch insrument cluster screen, blind-spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, rear cross-traffic alert and auto dipping high-beam. A satelite navigation system is available for $600 extra.

A High Roof option for $1500 adds to the practicality of the car, with more options realting to windows on single and dual sliding door models. More than 100 exterior colours are available, according to Ford, as are 16-inch alloys.
